“For whoever desires to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake will fine it.
For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and
loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his
soul?” (Matthew 16: vs 25 & 26)
The precious thing in a man’s life is the soul. If a soul
is lost then nothing matters anymore. It is the only thing that
goes back to the creator – God. God gave the dominion of all
living things to man. If man is to rule over all God’s creation,
man, by virtue is then a second ruler.
Since we are part of God, we are also joint-heir with Christ (Romans
8:17). He will therefore wouldn’t want or allow the spiritual
relationship to be broken because He would not want our soul to
perish.
The soul is more important than the body. It is like this. The content
of a milk is more important than the container. Without the milk
inside the can the can will not be valuable to anyone. By the same
token the soul in far more important than the flesh. After death
the flesh is decayed, lifeless, rotten and decomposed, while the
soul returned back to the creator.
So why do men pay more attention onto perishable flesh. Why do men
waste more of their time, money and effort on flesh that is susceptible
and prone to decay, infectious and ordinarily sand that do not amount
to any lasting effect on the face of the earth? That beat me.
So much so that some will plan their coffins and funerals even
before their death. This they do by putting some money aside for
the celebration after death as well as the types of coffin they
will prefer. How I wonder why men waste their time on vein things
rather than lasting things. Remember Lazarus and the rich man’s
story (Luke 16:19-31). There is no second chance after death. Only
now.
Let us get our priority straight. So often some think being a king
on earth guaranteed to be a king in heaven. So often some think
being rich on earth guaranteed to be rich in heaven. While some
think being poor on earth will be poor in heaven. I am not so sure
about that. You have to consult your soul.
Your soul is precious. You will die one day. Have you ever thought
of where you will be buried? What will happen to your flesh, lonely
in the grave? What will happen to your soul away from your flesh
in that small box, not even as wide as your bed? Think. My friend,
think. After death there is no repentance. There is chance to repent
now. Do not wait until you die. Which can be anytime from now.
Remain Blessed this week
