FAITH “SEEING IS NOT BELIEVING.
BELIEVING IS SEEING”.
“... things hoped for,…things not seen”, Hebrews
11:1
The success of the ancient prophets rest on the premise of not having
to see before believing. Noah was one (see Gen.
ch.6-9). Abraham was another (see Gen. ch.12&13). Their hope,
their expectation, their trust, their optimism, their anticipation
had to be so strong in order to stand the test of that time. Faith
was linked with Hope. It was a Faith in action.
Abraham, while putting his faith into action led
and assisted his household to the future, where there was multiplication
of new generations. Had he not, his generation would have been dead.
Noah on the other hand harkened to God’s instruction thereby
giving us a second chance for existence. “A faith
without work is dead” (see James 2:17). Not
assisting those in trouble, the sick, the hunger (work) is dead
faith. We can use our substances and resources to work for God.
That faith of “….will provide”
is a faith in action. An increase and multiplication of “what
is hoped for and not seen”. The act of not applying
this principle is a form of limitation to the power of God. We haven’t
seen God, we haven’t seen Christ, yet we believed. So when
God says “…be multiply”
He meant we will lack nothing. This was confirmed by David when
he put God at the forefront of his multiplication process saying
in Psalm 23:1 “the Lord is my Shepard I shall
lack nothing”. Doubting and faithlessness in
this prophetic authority will result into lack. May we not lack.
Perhaps we need a constant reminding of the word
of God. Conceivably we need to be taught why we need to trust, believe,
expect and anticipate good things from our Father in heaven. Maybe
we need to hear the word of God more since “faith
cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God”
Romans 10:17. Daily bread in form of fellowshipping with the brethren,
worshiping, praising and listening to sermons through music, books,
Christian TV channels, video etc will assist in “hearing”
and thereby establishing faith in our lives, a “faith
that cometh” to establish.
The Church needs a living faith. Not a dead faith. We need a working
faith. Not an idle faith. That, which will move with the anticipation
of massive increment spiritually, as in anointing to break yokes,
set the captive free, intercede for others, bless others and bless
the house of God. That, which will increase in physically manifestation
as in prosperity, financial breakthrough, favour, abundant and righteousness
in the Holly Ghost.
Faith is the pillar of Christianity. Responding and putting our
faith into action like Abraham and Noah will place us in a high
esteem. We will move to possess our possession. We will move and
claim that which belong to us that was stolen by the Satan in the
Garden of Eden. Most importantly we will never be in want of any
good things as the Lord liveth. Amen.
