The Power in the Holy Spirit

Jesus is God. He took up the flesh, yet He was in the Spirit. Matt 3:16 wrote that the Holy Spirit descended on Jesus after baptism. But the Holy Spirit has always been on Him since He was in the womb. What happened by the river was that the time was right for Jesus’ ministry to start, so the anointing has to come and kick-start the beginning of the ministry.

Jesus confirmed that the Spirit of the Lord was upon Him and anointed Him to preach the gospel (see Luke 4:18). The Spirit is slightly different from the Anointing. The anointing is the power to propel. Like the car engine enabling the car to run. Without the anointing, effectiveness of service cannot be manifested.

The anointing is fire. It will move you to speak, sing and pray for and in the name of Jesus. You will not be able to control your situation. It is the Holy Spirit through the anointing that will control you. Where ever the children of God gathered, Holy Spirit will come down, deliverance will come down, and blessings and favour will come down. In this environment, anointing for the specific areas of manifestations and services need to be prayed for. When the anointing descended, breakthrough into every situation will start manifesting.

The anointing is the Power that enables Christians to function. Acts 1:8 employed the Apostles that they shall receive Power when the Holy Spirit has come upon them. Again, Anointing is the Power that propelled the Spirit in us to be effective. When the Apostles received Powers, with fire, it burnt into them that propelled them to do great things and identified them as Christians, even in times of tribulations. If the car is not serviced or oiled then it will break down. If we do not make use of and renew the Spirit given unto us, how can the Anointing and Power increases and helps us in time of needs or troubles?

We are not in flesh, but in the Spirit (Rom 8:9). But if the Spirit dies off because of lack of constant oiling, then our link with God will be broken because God is Spirit and those who serve Him must do so in Spirit. When a link is weakened and eventually broken, then we can’t hear from God anymore, nor can we receive from God at any rate. The Church increases because of the Holy Spirit that was in them (Acts 9:31). So much so now, that our church of this age needed the Holy Spirit to grow.

Remain Blessed this week
